Registration is hosted on ultrasignup and opens every year in early March.
We want to be as sustainable as possible while keeping our registration fees as low as possible and providing the highest value to runners so we make shirts optional. We will have a custom short sleeve race shirt available as a $10 add on to registration for this year’s event. It is a great fitting, soft organic cotton/recycled poly blend. All registered runners get a beautiful, challenging and well marked course along with a fun post-race that includes door prizes, free local craft beer and delicious hot food from a local vendor!
4mi/7mi – $20 registration (no shirt)
Half marathon – $30 registration (no shirt)
No paper form and no morning of registration. Online registration only.

2018 Registration Timeline
Monday, March 5th – Early registration for previous year deferrals and special consideration entries opens. This early registration window closes and deferrals expire when general registration opens that Friday.
Friday, March 9th – 12pm CST – General registration opens
Cap of 300 racers (150 for the half and 150 for the 7mi/4mi combined)
We hit initial capacity in about 3 hours last year and will more than likely be in a similar situation this year. When that happens, runners should continue to register through UltraSignup if they’d like to be added to the wait list. Runners will be added to the event as spots become available in the order they joined the wait list. They will be notified via email of their selection. The waitlist is capped at 75 runners with the expectation that the large majority of those runners will end up with a spot in the race by August.
If the race fills and pre-registered runners later realize they’re unable to participate, please let us know ASAP via e-mail or the Mines of Spain Trail Races Facebook to open up spots for those on the wait list. A full deferral to next year’s race is available to any runner who lets the race knew in writing that he or she is unable to attend this year’s event AND receives written confirmation of the deferral from the race. Please note, the deferral is good for ONE year only. The deadline for the deferral option is Wednesday, July 11th. All deferrals will be notified of early registration opening up (early March of the following year) via the email address used to register this year. Deferrals will have the week of early registration to redeem their deferred entry which will expire when general registration opens at the end of that week.
Switching distances is allowed up until and at Friday night’s packet pickup and can be done by the runner ahead of time by logging into their UltraSignup account. There are no refunds for switching to a shorter distance and the participants must pay the difference in price if switching to the half marathon from a shorter distance. No distance switching is allowed the morning of the race
